A Very Special Day!

Gary Dean Archibeque
May 25, 1965 ~ June 19, 2004

Today was a special day! Not only was it Memorial Day, But it was also my Dads 44Th Birthday! So not only were we so grateful to all those men and women who have served our country but I was also grateful to have such a wonderful man as my father!

Today the boys and I went to the store and picked out some balloons for my dads birthday and put some special letters inside them. We then went to the park and took some pictures and let them go! Kyesun was so excited to do this. You should have seen the huge smile on his face as he waved by to the balloons and anticipated his Papa Gary receiving them in heaven.

My dad was an amazing guy. He was very loving, giving and carefree passionate man. I have so many fond memories of him and I will always hold on to them. My dad loved my son (Kyesun) dearly. And to this day Kyesun asks about him all the time. He doesn't remember my dad but he is happy that he knows my dad loved him and that he got to meet him. I know that my dad is watching over me and I hope that I am making him a proud father.

Dad I miss you tremendously and not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I hope you had a wonderful special day in heaven. Kyesun hopes that you got our balloons with our letters in them. You are greatly missed and I am so proud to call YOU my DADDY!

Love you
Always & Forever

Good News & Bad News

So I pick Kyesun up from school today and I could tell something was bothering him and he didn't know how to get it out. So we get home and I make him a superman float and let him relax before he has to do his homework(which by the way is ridiculous at times for a kindergartner, but that will be a whole other post). He gets done with his float and as I am walking into my room he says:
Kyesun: Well mom I have good news and I have bad news so here it goes.
Me: um OK lets have it.
Kyesun: Someone stole my hat and my jacket but the good news is I still had a good day.
Me: Um did you tell Mrs. Yockey?
Kyesun: no I didn't want to get anyone in trouble.
Me: You better tell Mrs. Yockey tomorrow or I will.
Kyesun: OK I guess thats a good idea

That was my good news bad news on top of the fact that I am really sick and don't feel like dealing with much.

My Helper

I just wanted to share a few things about this wonderful little boy known as Kyesun Alec Dowdy aka Buster, alec, bubba, booger
  • He has just been such an amazing boy!
  • He has been doing great in school and looks forward to acts of kindness so he can get points!
  • He loves his little brother even though Kayben is constantly pulling, hitting, or pinching him.
  • He wakes up every morning before the suns rises because he says " I know my dad is probably awake and I want to be up at the same time as him."
  • He cleans his room every morning without me having to ask him.
  • He is very polite and usually has good manners besides the occasional smacking of the gum.
  • He is shy when you first meet him but then 10 minutes later you cant get him to be quiet.
  • He will tell you the same thing over and over again until you acknowledge the fact that you heard him.
  • When he has gas he does not care if he is at home, school or the store he will let it out and he will go about his way like nothing even happened.
  • he loves to read
  • peanut butter and honey sandwich's are his favorite
  • He has a very short temper for people that mock him or make faces at him.
  • He misses all of his cousins back in Farmington dearly
  • He loves to swim but only if it is on the steps of the pool. lol
  • He likes the weekends because he gets to play video games and go to his Nana's
  • He is very artistic and likes to draw constantly
  • He misses his dad dearly
  • Before he goes to bed he hugs the bear his dad gave him so he can hear his voice, then prays to heavenly father that he comes home soon.
This little boy has been such a blessing to have around. He is very entertaining and puts the biggest smile on my face at times. He always thinks he is right and I am always wrong. He is very loving and likes to cuddle and I love that about him.
I am soo THANKFUL to have him as my son.
